Imagine your AC breaking in the midst of a midsummer heatwave. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened to our clients in Brooklyn, NY 11233.

Their worn-out equipment gave up at the most inconvenient time.

First, our technicians conducted a thorough inspection and found that the indoor units displayed a communication error, indicating that they were not communicating with the outdoor unit. After assessing the problem, they recommended replacing the equipment with new equipment.

The outdoor unit was also inspected. The control board appeared to be attempting to supply power to the compressor; however, no voltage was detected at the compressor terminals.

The main processor circuit was inspected too, but no voltage was detected in that circuit. This suggested that the main processor circuit was malfunctioning. The exact cause of the failure could not be determined; possible causes include overheating or another electrical fault.

Signs of swelling, likely caused by localized overheating, were visible on the traces of the main control board.

Although it may be possible to replace all of the electronic components in the outdoor unit, repairing the unit would not be cost-effective in this case. Replacement of the equipment with new equipment was recommended.

The technicians were able to use the existing pipes and electrical lines, as they were in good condition. The pipes were flushed.

During the removal of the old equipment, we encountered a problem: one of the units could not be removed without partially removing the bathroom ceiling, so we had to remove part of the ceiling and then patch it.

The outdoor unit and four indoor units have been installed, inspected, and confirmed to be operational.

All drainage systems were inspected and cleaned. Water is draining properly.

Each circuit was pressure-tested with nitrogen for leaks. No leaks were detected.

After the equipment was installed and connected, each circuit was evacuated to a deep vacuum. No leaks were detected.

The system was started and operated for three hours under maximum load, in accordance with the equipment manufacturer’s requirements.

All of this ensured that the equipment was operating properly.

When you have an installation performed by us, you benefit from a warranty on the equipment and our labor. The terms are discussed separately for each installation. If the systems are serviced regularly, the labor warranty may be extended.

In addition to this, the techs inspected the rest of the equipment and found heavy bacterial and/or fungal contamination.

Urgent cleaning was therefore recommended to prevent the contamination from spreading to the newly installed systems.

The older equipment was found to be significantly less efficient than the newly installed equipment. Our techs recommended having the refrigerant lines and compressors serviced and inspected. This service should be performed annually before the cooling season to reduce the load on the equipment and lower energy consumption.

If you order an installation or any other service with us, you will receive ongoing maintenance recommendations. Regular maintenance will likely extend the service life of your system and help prevent unpleasant problems, such as fungal growth, which can be a serious and costly problem.
